For this year we will have over 50 Christmas props. The show is run by a Raspberry PI 3b+ using the FPP software. This “Master” Pi is connected to the EDM FM transmitter and a wired Ethernet network. This network connects to all the other controllers. There is a 2nd Raspberry Pi, running in FPP remote mode, which controls the P5 panel through a colorlight card. The Tune to Radio sign is powered by a Beaglebone black, running FPP, with an octoscoller.
All the pixels controllers are controlled over the wired Ethernet using the DDP Protocol(Distributed Display Protocol) and FPP Master/Remote. The FPP PB16 pixel controllers have 16 outputs to control all the RGB LED props in the display. One differential receiver connected to the FPP PB16 controls the two large windows matrix’s. One DMX output from the yard PB16 drives the Renard Controller. The Renard 32 Controller is used to dim the 120v AC props. A
